Authority to use public land is granted through dispositions issued under the provisions of the Public Lands Act. A disposition is a land use contract that gives specific rights to a land or resource user (e.g. lease, license, or permit). This dataset contains the following active disposition types: Agriculture: PLS - Public/Private Land Sale, GRL - Grazing Lease, PGL - Grazing Lease (administered by Tourism, Parks and Recreation), GRP - Grazing Permit, PGP - Grazing Permit (administered by Tourism, Parks and Recreation), FDS - Farm Development Sale, FGL - Forest Grazing License, FDL - Farm Development Lease, CUP - Cultivation Permit, FGA - Forest Grazing Allotment, GRR - Provincial Grazing Reserve. Commercial: MLL - Miscellaneous Lease (administered by the Alberta Energy Regulator), DML - Miscellaneous Lease (administered by the Government of Alberta), PML - Miscellaneous Lease (administered by Tourism, Parks and Recreation), MLP - Miscellaneous Permit, PMP - Miscellaneous Permit (administered by Tourism, Parks and Recreation), SML - Surface Material Lease, SME - Surface Material Exploration License, SMC - Surface Material License, PSM - Surface Material Lease (administered by Tourism, Parks and Recreation), REC - Recreation Lease, PRL - Recreation Lease (administered by Tourism, Parks and Recreation), KRS - Kananaskis RCMP Staff Housing, MTS - Miscellaneous Townsite Lease. Industrial Disposition Types ROE, LOC and MSL also include Special Areas Disposition Numbers, which are identified with the suffix \"_SA\" appended to the Disposition Number. Easements in Special Areas are identified as the Disposition Type EAS, and also have the suffix added. Reservation: DRS - Disposition Reservation, FRD - Forestry Road, ISP - Industrial Sample Plot, CNT - Consultative Notation, HRS - Holding Reservation, PNT - Protective Notation, RDS - Provisional Roadway, RRD - Registered Roadway, PRD - Registered Roadway (administered by Tourism, Parks and Recreation), CNC - Consultative Notation - Company, DHR - Designated Historic Resource, PRS - Parks Reservation Notation. The Digital Integrated Dispositions (DIDs) data is maintained by Spatial Data Warehouse Ltd., on behalf of Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development. Spatial Data Warehouse Ltd. compilation methodology has significantly changed for this dataset and now included attribution for the dispositions from Alberta Energy's Electronic Transfer System (ETS) sourced from the Geographic Land Information Management Planning System (GLIMPS). The data has been compiled and approved by Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development up to the time period of content date.",
